Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba has cited initiating the ODM Reloaded as one of the achievements in the party and that his powers and position as the secretary general is as a result of his ability to perform .
During an interview on Citizen TV on Sunday, the MP highlighted his achievements in the Orange party including mounting a spirited campaign in the Kajiado Central and Mathare parliamentary by-elections, all which saw the ODM candidates emerge winners.
He also said he was the mastermind of the ODM Reloaded campaign to stabilise the party after the exit of key members.
“I launched the countrywide campaign ODM Reloaded to stabilise the party after the exit of Musalia Mudavadi, William Ruto, Charity Ngilu, Najib Balala and Joe Nyagah,” said ODM secretary general.
He was speaking in relevance to accusations of planning to ditch the party, claims he has rubbished, saying they were as a result of his move to bring reforms to the party.
He said it is a pity that antagonists of reforms had forgotten his achievements as the secretary general and are now fighting him.
He added that he would do more for the party but his powers have been capped.
“I know what I can do. You know Namwamba and his ability but I have been limited by some forces in the party forcing me to work within the mandate I have been given,” he added.
