Namwamba said the debate on succession politics was in bad faith adding that it was time to work for Kenyans who elected them last year.

He urged politicians to stop debates on amendments of the Constitution to create more positions noting that it was not in the best interests of Kenyans in general.

Namwamba made the remarks when he officially closed the Naivasha Trade Expo that was organized by Naivasha Youths Platform (NYP) at Buffalo Mall in the Lakeside town on Sunday.

He said recent sentiments by politicians from across the divide were likely to prolong the electioneering period adding that they ought to have the interests of the common Mwananchi and work to realize the pledges made during the elections.

Namwamba reminded the leaders of the gains made in the political front since the famous handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition leader Raila Odinga and asked them to spearhead reconciliation in their areas.

"What is currently happening in the political arena is quite disheartening given the events that happened during last year's General Elections," said the CAS.

He said the elected leaders had an obligation of delivering on the promises they made to the electorate before engaging in another round of campaigns.
