Budalang'i MP Ababu Namwamba has accused NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga of taking the Luhya community for granted.
Speaking on Saturday, the lawmaker accused the former Prime Minister of using the community's leaders for selfish gains, stating that it was about time the community charted its future.
He further drummed up support for the reelection of President Uhuru Kenyatta, observing that the community's interests are best represented in the ruling Jubilee Party.
“Where Eugene (Wamalwa) and I are is where the future of this region is. That other option being dangled represents unfulfilled promises, journeys that can never be, being used and even being sold,” he said.
His remarks were reiterated by Water Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa, who called on the locals to rally behind the reelection of President Kenyatta.
“This election is not just about Raila Odinga and Uhuru Kenyatta or NASA and Jubilee, but the future of the Luhya nation,” he said.
