Deputy President William Ruto has confirmed that Ababu Namwamba ditched ODM to join Jubilee.
Addressing wananchi in Kericho town on Friday after launching the 'Mwangaza Mtaani' street lighting project, Ruto said that his political tricks were working to pave the way for him to ascend on the presidency in 2022.
“Ababu Namwamba has resigned from ODM to join Jubilee. We thank leaders from Western Kenya for heeding our calls for a unified nation free of hatred and politics of division." he said
However, Ababu is yet to submit his letter of resignation from the ODM secretary general post and says his aim is to unite Western Kenya leaders to push and promote the region's agenda.
DP Ruto also revealed that Jubilee has signed an agreement with 15 opposition MPs from the coast region who have agreed to decamp to Jubilee.
“I am now headed to Coast to sign a deal with 15 MPs who have accepted to work with us,” he added
The Deputy President was on a tour of Kisii, Bomet and Transmara where he launched projects initiated by the Jubilee government.
