Former Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba has landed a new role in the Jubilee Party.

Namwamba lost his seat in the August 8 general election after decamping from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) to Labour Party of Kenya.

The former ODM secretary general has been drumming support for President Uhuru Kenyatta of Jubilee, after falling out with Raila Odinga of Nasa.

Namwamba has now been given a new role in the president's campaign team.

He will now be the team leader of the 'Mbele Iko Sawa' campaign team chaired by Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria.

The team comprises of 25 members drawn from legislators and other Jubilee party officials. 

The group will be charged with the mandate of traversing the country to ensure President Kenyatta is popularised ahead of the October 26 poll.
