Former Nyamira County Assembly Majority Leader Beauttah Omanga now wants Cord leader Raila Odinga to intervene with speed and have his unsettled Orange Democratic secretary general Ababu Namwamba’s grievances settled.
The outspoken Budalang’i lawmaker has been keeping a low profile despite his position as the party’s secretary general, and recently said he was ‘frustrated’ in the party by individuals who are ‘anti-change’.
And now Omanga believes that Mr Namwamba is an ‘asset’ that the former Prime Minister should not let go for the sake of his presidential ambitions.
“I respect my party leader Raila Odinga so much and I can’t just watch things happening. Ababu is an asset to our party and his concerns about frustrations in the party should be addressed urgently by the party leader,” he told this reporter on Saturday.
“As ODM, we really want to win presidency and it’s therefore important that our SG settles and works hard. It’s sad that a vibrant young man like Namwamba can undergo torrid moments yet he means good for the party,” added the Bogichora MCA.
Omanga also challenged ODM members and officials to respect Mr Namwamba’s place in the party for easy strategic planning ahead of the 2017 elections.
“Under his leadership, we have seen great changes including strategies of winning by-elections. He is a man that someone cannot ignore. It’s bad that some people call him a mole just because he rose so quickly to the senior most position. His position should be respected,” Omanga added.
