The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has lost in its bid to expel Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba and Likoni lawmaker Masoud Mwahima Mwalimu.
The Political Parties Tribunal has overturned ODM’s decision to expel the rebel politicians.
The Tribunal, chaired by Kyalo Mbobu, ruled that Namwamba and Masoud were not granted a fair hearing because they did not face a disciplinary committee before their expulsion.
Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya, Kisii deputy governor Joash Maangi, MPs Isaac Mwaura (nominated), Steve Kariuki (Mathare), John Waluke (Sirisia), Samuel Arama (Nakuru Town West) and Kwale Women Rep Zainab Chidzuga’s expulsion were, however, upheld by the same tribunal.
They were found guilty of attending the launch of the Jubilee Party at the Kasarani Stadium on September 10, 2016.
Namwamba is currently the Labour Party leader.
