Foreign Affairs Chief Administrative Secretary Ababu Namwamba has lauded Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong after he unveiled his new cabinet on Monday.
Ababu who is the immediate Budalang'i MP tweeted: "Congratulations on the occasion @GovOjaamong on the occasion of unveiling your government for our County Busia. Godspeed."
Busia residents also congratulated the governor.
"Quite a departure... Good names. let's hope they will be given space and resources," Wycliffe Ouma said in the County managed facebook page Busia County Government.
Edison Santys said the appointments reflect the phase of Busia County. County boda-boda Sacco chairman Eric Makokha said boda-bodas will support the new team to enable the governor to leave a good legacy.
In naming the new cabinet, Ojaamong considered affirmative action and regional balance. Of the 10 cabinets: Dr Janet Manyasi is from Diaspora. Leonard Obimbira (Bunyala), George Okwara (Teso North), Bernard Yaite, John Bwire Mwami and Judith Maketso (Nambale) Dr Moses Osia (Teso South) Dr Isaac Alukwe ( Samia), Phaustine Barasa (Matayos) and Prof Grephas Opata (Butula).
The chief officers per sub-county: Clementina Omoto, Moses Weunda and Joy Wanga (Butula), Allan Omachar and Daniel Mogoria (Teso North), Dr Isaac Omeri (Nambale), Prisca Omoit, Andrew Otiti and Ezekiel Okwach (Teso South), Ruth Mukhomgo and Gilbert Oduory (Samia), Richard Achiambo, Stephen Oyango(Bunyala), Nelson Kwamini and Maurice Odundo (Matayos).
