Budalangi lawmaker Ababu Namwamba has stated that he has no apologies to make for his friendship with Deputy President William Ruto.
Ababu said that Ruto is his friend and that they knew each other even before ODM was formed.
The former ODM Secretary General who was addressing the Busia political forum on Monday revealed that he had a cordial relationship with both the President and his deputy.
"I was in one of the five flanks of the Pentagon team headed by Ruto in 2007 election campaigns. It was the most formidable political outfit I have ever seen in this land. We grew quite close," said Ababu.
"We worked together in ODM and were colleagues in the 10th parliament and in the cabinet where we both served as ministers. I have no apology to make to anybody over my friendship with William Ruto," he added.
The Labour Party leader was accused of being bribed by Ruto in order to ditch ODM, consequently earning him the tag Jubilee mole.
