Speaking on Saturday in Amagoro while meeting leaders from the wider Teso community, the former ODM Secretary General said that Odinga was exhibiting ‘the same fear’ he had shown after past party exodus by Odinga’s former allies.

He said that the recent Western visit by Odinga was manifest enough that he (Odinga) was trying to re-consolidate the support he had lost after his (Namwamba’s) recent revolt in the party.

“When Mudavadi left ODM I was sent to come and neutralise his influence in Western.

“Now that I have left, he personally spent a week in the area trying to win back voters,” said Mr Namwamba.

Namwamba added that the Cord leader had realised that his (Namwamba’s) political stance had destabilised his (Odinga’s) grip of the region and that his previous support could not be re-consolidated as a result.

The Budalangi legislator also told those in attendance that ‘outside’ political figures did not have the region’s development and progress at heart, urging the residents to break from past political stances and beat their own path instead.

On Odinga’s allegations that he had been bought by Jubilee, Namwamba said that Odinga himself had changed parties several times.

He asked Odinga to therefore disclose the much he was given by retired president Daniel Moi to become the Kanu Secretary General in 2001.
