Budalangi Member of Parliament Ababu Namwamba has once again criticised Nasa presidential candidate Raila Odinga.
Speaking at the Sirisia Stadium on Wednesday, the Labour Party of Kenya leader said Mr Odinga was only good in political theatrics meant to excite the public but lacked an agenda for the country.
He said the future of the Luhya community was bright in Jubilee asking voters from the region to learn from their past mistakes of supporting those who end up in Opposition and support the winning team come August General Election.
“Jubilee has presented a charter to Kibabii University, it has revived the Pan Paper and Mumias Sugar Factory. It has also started tarmac work on 250 kilometer of roads as well as connecting 65,000 households up from 25,000 in 2013 in Bungoma County alone,” said Mr Ababu.
“These are development projects that our brothers in the Opposition failed to do for us when they were in government despite the Luhyas voting for them then to the last man,” added Mr Namwamba.
Water and Irrigation CS Eugene Wamalwa said Mr Odinga shelved the Western Region Investment Plan that was presented to him when he was the Prime Minister, saying he had no interest of the people of the region at heart.
“We are surprised that our brother Musalia Mudavadi who worked closely with Mr Odinga as deputy Prime Minister could make another mistake of working again with him and yet he knows well the future of our community there is bleak,” said Sirisia MP John Waluke.
“Why should we continue to support someone who we didn’t benefit from his administration when he was in power? Do we even still have trust in such a leader?’ asked Mr Wamalwa.
The leaders described the Opposition as hungry power outfit that was only interested in sharing positions at the expense of solving challenges facing Kenyans.
“As leaders from the Luhya community we are sure of where we are going and what’s in store for us in Jubilee. We want to be part of the winning team,” said Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka.
The leaders had accompanied deputy president William Ruto in a vote hunt campaign.
