Former Budalang'i MP Ababu Namwamba has criticised the Supreme Court for overturning President Uhuru Kenyatta's victory in the August 8 general election.

On September 1, the Chief Justice David Maraga-led top court nullified Uhuru's win citing illegalities and irregularities in the electoral process.

Four of the seven Supreme Court judges led by Justice Maraga and his deputy Philomena Mwilu declared the poll outcome invalid, null and void.

However, Justices Njoki Ndung'u and JB Ojwang dissented.

The court ruled a fresh to be held within 60 days. The IEBC has set October 26 as the repeat poll date.

But according to Namwamba the judges were influenced by NASA and civil societies to nullify the election.

"The majority decision of the Supreme Court was unreasonable, illogical, thoughtless and absolutely baseless. It was a decision that cannot stand the test of juristic scrutiny," Namwamba said, as quoted by the Sunday Nation.

The former MP was speaking during a Jubilee campaign caravan dubbed 'Mbele Iko Sawa' in Kitengela on Saturday.

Namwamba was accompanied by Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, Uasin Gishu Women Representative Gladys Shollei and a host of JP leaders.
