Budalang'i MP Ababu Namwamba has insisted he will support President Uhuru Kenyatta during the August 8 general elections.

The Labour Party of Kenya (LPK) leader said the Head of State has been 'close' to the people of Budalang'i to address their problems.

“I can confidently walk into Budalang’i and say Uhuru has listened to the concerns of my people and addressed them,” Ababu said during an interview with Citizen TV on Tuesday.

The legislator identified the construction of a critical bridge over river Nzoia as one of the reasons why his people will support Uhuru's reelection bid in the forthcoming polls.

He lamented the previous regimes have failed to honour promises to build the crucial bridge, despite pleas from the residents.

“The President came to Budalang’i and condoled with the families when a boat capsized and promised the bridge will be completed. It is almost complete and Uhuru will open it in two months time,” said the MP.

The former ODM secretary general discredited his former boss Raila Odinga and his NASA counterparts saying Uhuru is the most suitable candidate.

“Uhuru is the best in the pack among those seeking the Presidency,” the LPK boss insisted.
