Budalang'i MP Ababu Namwamba has been invited to Tanzania where he is expected to deliver a keynote address at a meeting convened in Dar es Salaam.
According to organisers of the event, Ababu will address the meeting on October 8, on the role of youth in promoting democracy and accountability in East Africa.
Besides, he will share his experiences in politics during the one-day convention the organizers added.
There will also be presentations from political leaders invited from across from East Africa and Europe dwelling on the challenges emerging democracies face in their quest to promote constitutionalism and fighting economic ills like corruption.
The meeting has been convened by little known ACT Wazalendo party that's mainly dominated by youth.
"We are going to discuss a lot," Edna Sunga, the party's Secretary for Youth Affairs said on phone on Thursday.
"Issues to do with promotion of democracy and accountability as well as constitutionalism have been given priority. We expect visitors from East Africa as well Europe.”
Ababu’s invitation to the meeting signifies the lawmaker's growing popularity following his departure from the ODM party when he resigned as secretary general two months ago.
It also comes two weeks after hitting headlines when he relaunched the Labour Party of Kenya which he intends to ride on in defending his parliamentary seat in 2017.
The relaunched LPK has for the last more than fifteen years been dormant after its founder, former Funyula MP Julia Ojiambo was defeated during the 2002 general elections.
