Former Budalang'i MP Ababu Namwamba will be among leaders who will host President Uhuru Kenyatta in Busia on Saturday.
Uhuru will be in the border county to meet Uganda President Yoweri Museveni where the two will hold bilateral talks before opening the One Stop Border Post (OSBP) in Busia town.
Ababu is among few leaders from the former Western Province who were recently appointed by Uhuru to key government position as the head of state positions himself to kick off his final term in office.
Ababu, an outspoken lawyer was appointed Chief Administrative Secretary in the ministry of Foreign Affairs headed by Cabinet Secretary Monica Juma. He is yet to assume his duties.
The young politicians who quit lecturing law at the University of Nairobi to join politics is expected during the Busia meeting to convince residents of the far-flung county to support the Jubilee administration owing to the vigorous way he campaigned for Uhuru during the August 8 general election as well the October 26 repeat poll.
The OSBP being launched is foreshadowed to ease trade within the East African Community region by eliminating non-tariff barriers at border points.
Under the arrangement, trucks crossing the border to Uganda will not stop either in Busia or Malaba for clearance as currently done.
All the trucks will be cleared in Mombasa and their next principle stop-over will be in Kampala in Uganda.
