Budalang'i MP and Labour Party of Kenya (LPK) leader Ababu Namwamba has now joined critics calling upon the President to arrest former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru over the alleged Sh1.6 billion theft at NYS.
Namwamba has called on President Uhuru Kenyatta to use his powers as the head of state and order the arrest of Waiguru and other suspects implicated in the scam.
"As a President you swore to defend and protect the constitution of our country. Corruption threatens the existence of our nation," Namwamba said at a rally in Eldoret on Friday.
"People like Anne Waiguru... arrest these fellows and deal with them decisively," he added.
He further expressed wonder on how businesswoman Josephine Kabura could go scot-free after evidence that she withdrew Sh60 million in a day.
"Why are they free? They should be arrested," Namwamba added.
