Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba was on Monday warned during a live television session.
Namwamba while appearing on Citizen TV during an interview alongside Lugari MP Ayub Savula was warned about his move to support the re-election of president Uhuru Kenyatta.
According to Savula, Ababu’s move to go against the luhya community will cost him since the region is solidly behind NASA.
“In western kenya the dominant party is Odm, ANC and Ford Kenya.Anybody who goes against the parties risks being alienated from the community and that is the position my brother (Ababu) is at the moment. Supporting Jubilee in Western Kenya will cost you,” said Savula.
On his part, Ababu dismissed the warning stating that politics of alleviating individuals with contrary opinions was long time.
“We should move away from this divisive politics. It is time to stop demonising individuals who have a different opinion from the majority,” said Ababu.
Ababu after quiting the ODM secretary general position joined the Labour party of Kenya whre he was appointed the leader.
Last week, the party endorsed the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
