South Mugirango parliamentary hopeful Silvanus Osoro now wants his political mentor and Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba to reconsider reconciling with the ODM before the 2017 elections to retain his seat.
Ababu, the immediate former ODM secretary general bowed out of the party citing frustrations from top party leadership, and vowed to form a third force to counter top coalitions in the country.
And on Tuesday during a phone interview, Osoro urged Namwamba to reconcile with his former party and help it lay strategies of sending the Jubilee administration home.
“Abau is the reason why many young people joined ODM. His zeal and enthusiasm that he showed since 2007 has motivated many of us to join the party. It wasn’t a good show to see him bowed out of the party he fought so hard to make it strong,” he said.
“Time has come for him to reconcile with the party and move on. Differences in politics are natural but some small issues can be sorted out without necessarily moving out of a political party. ODM is still the strongest party and we need him soonest,” he said.
Osoro also challenged ODM party to give room for young stars to grow and make an impact in the global political arena.
“As young people, we also need space within the party ranks so that we can grow. Namwamba fought hard for it and as much as there were some few issues, he won’t have left and that is why we need him,” he said.
