Members of the Abagusi community in Nakuru have been urged to join the ruling Jubilee alliance for them to be included in government affairs on a large scale. This was said by nominated MCA Mary Okemwa yesterday when she addressed a funds drive gathering in aid of Omugusii Women Enterprise Group in Kaptembwa estate in Nakuru west. The MCA noted that although it was an individual’s democratic right to support a political outfit of his or her liking, the community would benefit more from government incentives ought to be enjoyed by its supporters. She observed that the coalition was set to win again come the next general election, hence the community ought to make an informed decision in order for it not to be left out of the government. “I appeal to Abagusii to fully support the Jubilee government as we prepare to win again come the next general elections," the MCA said. "The government has privileges set aside to be enjoyed by its supporters. You should take this opportunity to join Jubilee in order for you as a community or individual to enjoy them," The MCA further said that members of the community countrywide were slowly realising the mistake they did by not supporting the Jubilee coalition in the last general election and that they would soon make an informed decision as a community to craft their political future. She was accompanied by area MP Samuel Arama, who said he will continue working with the Jubilee government for development purposes despite criticism from the ODM party which sponsored him to parliament
