Garissa deputy governor Abdi Dagane has revealed a new tactic that will help fight al Shabaab and impede the war against terror in Boni forest.

Speaking at Ocean Beach Resort during the unveiling of the new move christened Boni Enclave Campaign, Dagane said that his government is committed to fighting war against terror in Boni Forest.

The unveiling of the new plan was attended by various stakeholders including Lamu county Commissioner Joseph Kanyiri and Lamu Women Representative Ruweida Mohamed.

The deputy county boss urged the gornenment to employ national police reservists to help fight against terrorists. 

“Employing reservists and a new approach is key,” he said as quoted by a local daily.

The adoption of the Boni Enclave Campaign is due to the Mpeketoni attacts, deadly Garissa University attack in 2015 and the continuous al Shabaab attacks within Lamu and Garissa  regions

While addressing the conference in Malindi, Lamu County commissioner and director of the Boni Enclave Campaign, Joseph Kanyiri spoke of the involvement of other key stakeholders in the plan that include international organizations (EU and USAID), Kenya Red Cross Society and Civil Right groups among others.
