Abdi Omar Shurie was on Sunday officially endorsed to vie for the Balambala Constituency seat in the August 2017 elections in an event held in Balambala town.
The rally was led by Rtd. General Mohamud, Businessman Mzee MK Roble, Abudwak King Sultan Dekow Maalim, political leaders, professionals and elders representing all the sub clans including youths and women.
The occasion was graced in large numbers by the Balambala residents, who and made it clear that Abdi Omar is their choice for 2017 elections.
Garissa Township Member of Parliament and the Majority Leader in the National Assembly, Aden Duale was among the speakers druing the event, and he urged all those who are given the chance to lead at different levels to organize and strategise the political future and the destiny of the people and the country at large.
At the same time, Duale reminded the Balambal locals of his service when he was the Member of Parliament for Dujis in the 10th parliament.
“During my reign, the New Balambala Constituency and district were curved out, health care was improved, accessibility of water in the rural parts, creation of new divisions, locations, sub locations, built new schools and fair distribution of bursaries across the constituency was felt,” said Duale.
The MP, who will face Faraha Maalim in this year’s elections reminded his opponent that his track record will eventually hand him the win.
"My political leadership speaks volume both in terms of development and national rating. I will engage less with political toddlers and novices whose future hangs in the balance,” said Duale.
