[Photo/@citizentvkenya/Twitter]Presidential candidate Muhammed Abduba Dida has been cleared to vie for presidency, in the August 8, general elections.Dida was dealt a major blow, after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), declined to clear him, earlier Sunday.IEBC received presidential papers of all candidates vying for presidency in the August 8, elections, including Independent candidates, on the mentioned day.Appearing before the special IEBC panel chaired by Wafula Chebukati, at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi, Dida was turned awayIt emerged he had not accompanied with him, a copy of his university degree and that of his running mate.IEBC asked him to go and come back with the papers, certified, stamped by an advocate, and commissioned, by 4:00pm, for clearance, as a presidential candidate.Dida who is vying on a Alliance for Real Change party ticket, said he was not aware such documents were needed.He said such requirement was not there, when he vied in the 2013 general elections.The humorous presidential candidate presented himself before the panel once again at around 12pm, accompanied by his running mate, where he was finally cleared, and handed nomination certificate.He asked the Commission to exercise fairness in the elections.
