Former presidential candidate Mohammed Abduba Dida has joined the growing calls for the resignation of some IEBC officials ahead of repeat presidential election slated for October 26, 2017.Dida, a contender in the August 8 presidential election, said the electoral agency's technical and legal team should quit office for allegedly bungling the poll conducted last month."The officials should resign as the Supreme Court ruling indicted the departments they were in charge of as the reason the presidential election was nullified," Dida said during Sidebar Show on NTV, on Wednesday night.Similar calls have been made by the NASA leaders who have planned to stage demonstrations twice a week to force reforms in the electoral commission. The Raila Odinga-led Opposition alliance is pushing for the resignation of CEO Ezra Chiloba and other officials including Commissioner Abdi Guliye, who it accuses of helping Jubilee 'steal' the election."Uhuru and Ruto are defending the IEBC because they know that as constituted, it is only team that can steal votes for them," Raila reiterated during a press conference in Nairobi, Wednesday.
