A Form Two student believed to have been abducted recently was found murdered and buried in a shallow grave in Kuresoi South constituency.
Locals on Saturday raised an alarm following a rise in the number of abductions and brutal killings in the area.
The deceased identified as Roy Kimutai, a Form Two student at Tengecha Boys in Kericho County went missing in December 2016.
Two weeks later, his decomposing body was discovered by neighbours inside a shallow hole.
Residents of Kuresoi South called on the national government to beef up security in the area to stem rising insecurity.
"Insecurity is rising every day under the watch of police who are doing nothing," Joseph Too, a resident said as quoted Radio Jambo.
"They only release suspects on cash and this broods evil. If they will not take a different step, we as residents will take up the law in our hands."
During the burial, Nakuru Deputy Governor Joseph Rutto said investigations will be done and culprits arrested.
