The legislator raised concerns against political affiliations, which he said have never brought national healing since the general election in 2013, when Jubilee took over power.

The lawmaker further called on MCAs to work hand in hand with the local chiefs and other counterparts, regardless of the political differences to promote peace in the country.

He went on to criticise hate speech in various social medias, which incites Kenyans to fight against each other and destabilise the peace and harmony of the country.

“Hate speeches in social Medias are the results of tribulations and fight against brothers in the country, if only it can be avoided it will be a step forward towards peace keeping in the nation,” said Munyua.

“Kenya should be the nation that it was, where all other neighbouring countries admired, we want to make it a place where ‘hakuna matata’ and a centre of tourist attraction,” added Munyua.

Kenya has shown divisions since the general election, where Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) lost against their archrivals Jubilee in a disputed election.

Munyua, who was speaking on Sunday in his constituency, added that in order to tame insecurity, Kenyans should work closely with the authority and be their own police.

He further lauded President Kenyatta for standing firm and signing the security bill that elicited heated debate across the country.
