During a briefing in a children’s rights forum in Nakuru on Tuesday, Pastor George Nyachiro said it is high time the parents took upon themselves to show their children the right ways to follow in the fight against minor abuse.

“The rate at which minor abuse in the country is happening can only be blamed on rampant ignorant by the Kenyan parents who have failed to instill discipline in their children,” said Nyaricho.

He also pointed out insufficient civic education on the public about children’s rights, saying this has worked as a weapon to encourage the spread of the vice.

“Majority of the public have little or no knowledge on children’s rights, and therefore act as the perpetrators of the vice instead of safeguarding the little ones in the society,” added Nyachiro.

He also called upon the church to work together with the public and curb the vice that has in the last few years been on the rise.
