Kikuyu ward MCA Binary Wainaina has raised concerns over school dropouts in his ward due to inadequate resources to sustain children in the school.

The MCA said that many children do not attend school due to lack of facilities and vigilance of parents and teachers in making sure their children have gone to school.

He condemned teachers who do not attend classes leaving children to loiter around the school which results to escaping home or involving in drugs and substance abuse.

“Teachers who sleep in their jobs and allow children to be mischievous should be vigilant in helping raise our young leaders to save the generation,” said Wainaina

The legislator who was speaking on Wednesday when he was supervising the construction of the new classroom at Kikuyu Primary School has called on leaders to join hands in making sure that children in various wards have attended school to reduce crime and save the future generation which is at high risk.

“Kiambu leaders should join hands in helping the children in attending school and I congratulate some leaders who introduced feeding program in their wards, it is a sign of leadership,” He added.

 He lamented on leaders who politicize on impeachment rather than working towards achieving the manifesto set during the campaign period.

He has lauded Governor William Kabogo through his education ministry for his support in building the new classroom urging residents not to be misled by inciting politicians.
