A section of clergy from the North Rift region, have expressed disappointment following the manner in which the just concluded party primaries were conducted.
The nominations that ended April 30, were marred with massive irregularities across the political divide leading to high number of independent candidates who failed to clinch the party tickets.
The religious leaders under the banner of the National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK) condemned the violence that was witnessed in some areas of the country.
Spaeking in Eldoret town on Wednesday, led by Bishop Christopher Ruto of the Anglican Church of Kenya – Eldoret Diocesse, they urged leaders who were defeated by their opponents to accept the loss and work together with the winners.
“Those who lost in nominations should accept defeat and unite with the winners so as to work together for the sake of peaceful Kenya. We should also encourage all women aspirants and give them the respect that their male counterparts enjoy,” Bishop Ruto said.
