The outgoing Mosop Member of Parliament Stephen Bitok has asked the National Super Alliance (Nasa) to accept presidential election in which President Uhuru Kenyatta was declared the winner.
Bitok who lost during the Jubilee party primaries has warned that the opposition's continued rejection of the results may lead to divisions amongst Kenyans.
Speaking in Eldoret town, Monday, the outgoing MP has further asked the NASA leadership to reign on their supporters to maintain peace and desist from activities that put the county's stability at risk.
"Elections are over, winners have been declared and its time the opposition accepted the results and allow this country to move forward," said Bitok.
"NASA leadership especially Raila Odinga should tell his supporters to maintain peace because Kenya is bigger than an individual," he added.
After the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) declared Uhuru Kenyatta as the President-elect, Friday night, several NASA strongholds witnessed demonstrations rejecting the results.
Tension is still rife in some parts of Nairobi that are NASA strongholds.
