Outgoing Molo MP Jacob Macharia has called on Nakuru county residents to maintain peace and work towards developing the cosmopolitan county.
In an interview, Macharia who lost to Kuria Kimani said Kenyans need to enjoy peace and stability adding that Raila should accept the verdict of Kenyans.
“What we need is peace and we move on because I too lost in Molo and I accepted. Most of those who lost in the election had accepted the will of the people and Raila should be no exception” said Macharia.
According to Macharia, there was a need for Kenyans to remember the effects of the 2007/2008 post election violence and the economic impact they had on the nation.
He called on residents of Nakuru and the general public at large to shun violence and instead focus on nation building.
Meanwhile, residents of Nakuru seem to have ignored NASA leader Raila Odinga’s call to boycott work on Monday as a spot-check in Nakuru town revealed that members of the public reported to work as early as 6.00 am.
Those interviewed said that they had a lot of financial needs and therefore cannot afford to boycott work.
“We are hustlers and we have to move on with our lives. We cannot boycott work and in the evening we are the ones to suffer,” they said.
While appreciating the fact that elections were over, residents of Nakuru called on Raila to seek legal redress should he feel dissatisfied with the outcome of the August 8th elections.
