Diocese of Mombasa Catholic Archbishop Martin Kivuva has appealed to politicians to accept the results of Tuesday’s elections.

Addressing journalists in Mombasa on Sunday, Kivuva asked politicians to seek legal redress if they feel aggrieved.He said the court system is ready to hear poll petitions thus politicians should not rally their supporters to cause violence in case the results do not favour them.“Politicians seeking seats whether it’s the presidential seat or the MCA seat must be ready and willing to accept the choices Kenyans will make on Tuesday,” said Kivuva as quoted by the People Daily.Bishop Kivuva also asked Kenyans not to be blinded by politicians who call for violence.He said the country’s democratic space has matured, adding that politicians must learn to accept and concede defeat if they lose in a fair and free elections.The Catholic Bishop further urged Kenyans to turn out in large numbers and vote.He said the constitution provides the right for every eligible citizen to participate in elections thus Kenyans should not fear voting in today’s polls.
