Uasin Gishu County Assembly Majority Leader Josephat Lowoi has asked NASA leader Raila Odinga to accept the outcome of the October 26 repeat polls that saw President Uhuru Kenyatta declared the winner.Addressing journalists on Wednesday in Eldoret Town, Lowoi accused Mr Odinga of holding the country to ransom by challenging the outcome of an election process he abandoned halfway."If Mr Odinga is democratic enough and if he loves the country as he has always stated, then I put it to him that he should stop casting aspersions on the outcome of this election and let the country move on. The economy is hurting all because of him,” said Lowoi. The Karuna/Meibeki MCA also scoffed at Odinga over his call for the formation of a People’s Assembly, terming the move as ill-informed.According to Odinga, the people’s assembly will be a broad forum consisting of elected leaders, workers, members of the civil society and religious leaders to discuss issues affecting Kenyans and pass resolutions that can be debated in the county assemblies.
