Salat further wants Uhuru and Raila to talk to their supporters and encourage unity ahead of Supreme court ruling on Friday.

Speaking to journalists in Garissa Town on Monday, Salat said that life has to continue irrespective of whoever wins or loses in the supreme court petition.

He said that the Supreme court is the highest court in the land, adding that its verdict should be respected.

"I am calling on president Kenyatta and Raila Odinga to champion unity among Kenyans even as they battle in supreme court and wait for the rulingruling set  for Friday," he said as quoted by the Daily Nation.

The SUPKEM official  also urged politicians allied to Uhuru and Raila to tone down and stop speculating  on the possible Supreme court verdict.

He said that speculation in the ongoing petition is creating unnecessary anxiety in the country.

Salat lauded Kenyans for maintaining peace and calm saying that it is a show that the country's democratic space has grown.

The hearing of the presidential petition filed by NASA challenging  Uhuru's re-election is going on in the Supreme court.

The Supreme court will on Friday make  judgement on the presidential petition.

The country will have to go for fresh presidential election in case the Supreme court led by Chief Justice David Maraga quashes President Kenyatta re-election.

On the other hand Uhuru will be inaugurated to office for a second term in case the court upholds his re-election.
