Two people died and several others injured following an accident involving two lorries on the busy Nairobi-Nakuru highway.
The accident that occurred at Marula in Naivasha adversely affected the flow of traffic before police were called in to remove the wreckage.
The driver of one of the trucks died on the spot while a passenger in the other vehicle was pronounced dead on arrival at Naivasha Referral Hospital.
Simon Wanango, a witness said that one of the Lorries heading to Nakuru from Nairobi was overtaking when it crushed head on into the incoming lorry.
The witness added that two people were rushed to hospital by members of the public suffering from leg fractures.
“We pray to God to heal the rest who are recuperating at the hospital and we appeal to the other drivers to be careful on the road," he said.
Naivasha police boss Charles Kortok confirmed the accident adding that the wreckage had been towed to the area police station. He said that the accident was caused by careless overtaking from one of the drivers.
