A lorry ferrying charcoal nearly claimed the lives of two people at Kariobangi in Machakos county when the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle on the morning of Saturday, September 17.

The driver of the lorry that was transporting charcoal for sale in Machakos lost control of the machine, leading to the lorry rolling several times and injuring two people in the process.

The two who were injured were rushed to Machakos level five hospital where they were treated and doctors confirmed that despite suffering major injuries, their lives were out of danger. There was no loss of lives reported from the incidence though.

Drivers and motorists in the area have been on several occasions cautioned about reckless driving and carelessness on the roads so as to uphold safety and minimise on the cases of  accidents that claim lives and render many cripples.
