I pleaded with my friends and relatives to join me in prayers before leaving Oloitoktok for Nairobi in vain, says Rosaline Mureithi.
Ms Mureithi, one of the survivors of a grisly road accident that killed 9 at Kwa Muambi along Mombasa –Nairobi Highway on Sunday morning pleaded with her colleagues for a word of prayer before they embarked on a journey back to Nairobi in vain.
The 23 years old industrial plant operator and a staunch faithful of Murangala Adventist Church in Kirinyanga County, told this writer in an exclusive interview that her plea to have a moment with the Lord was turned down as everyone claimed it was too late.
Ms Mureithi said pissed off by her friends, she opted to pray silently and soon after prayer, she tightened her seat's safety belt.
The staunch christian said she was asleep when the accident occurred and only woke up to hear people screaming.
“Prayers saved me even though I have lost 9 friends” Ms Mureithi said.
The accident claimed lives of 9 family friends who were traveling from Rombo Village in Oloitoktok for a bridal shower of one of their own.
Six people reportedly died on the spot, two others while being rushed to Machakos Level Five Hospital while another passed on while receiving treatment at the same facility on the fateful day.
The bodies are lying at the same facility's mortuary in Machakos County.
