Members of the County Assembly in Likuyani have been called upon to account for the Sh11 million that each ward was given during the last financial year for the purpose of development. Speaking at Soy on Thursday, the Likuyani Member of Parliament Enoch Kibunguchy said that it is the duty of the MCAs to make sure that development happens at the grassroots level, hence the allocation. “It is a high time those MCAs tell us what they have done with the money that the county allocated to each ward,” said Kibunguchy. He added that the constituency and the country at large will not get stuck because of 'a few fellows'. “If these MCAs cannot show us the tangibles, then they have nothing to do in those offices they hold,” he added. Kibunguchy said that as elected members, the public has 'total confidence' in them and they have no excuse why they should not perform. “If it's money, both the national and county governments have provided, why should we not deliver?” he wondered. He reiterated on the need to stay in peace and work hard to assist in economic growth. “The environment has been created so that mwananchi can have room and chance for self employment,” Kibunguchy said.
