Seven students from the University of Nairobi have pleaded with court to throw out charges against them.
Timothy Sikenyi, David Osano, Arnold Odenyo, Michael Bonga, Maxwel Odiambo, Samuel Mogaka, and Franklin Odongo are accused of creating disturbance in public in a manner likely to cause breach of public peace.
They also face accusation of disobeying orders given by university VC Prof Peter Mbithi.Through lawyer Evans Ondieki, the students told trial magistrate Mutuku that the 24 counts leveled against them are completely unconstitutional and defective.
The seven are accused of committing the offences at University of Nairobi administration block last year on September 16 and 26.
They were released on a Sh5,000 bail each.
The case will be heard next on March 24.
