The Anglican Church of Kenya ACK is set to hold elections to replace outgoing Maseno North Diocese Bishop Simon Oketch.
The Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit noted that three candidates were picked after being vetted by 22 priests from the church’s Electoral College.
“Seven candidates applied to vie in the forthcoming elections. After grilling, four were eliminated. The remaining three will face off in the April 24 elections,” Said Sapit as quoted by The Standard.
The three who will face off are Canon Peter Adolwa, Canon Charles Kaskan Asilutwa and Canon Jacob Mbunjiro.
The winner will be blessed and enthroned as bishop at Bukhungu Stadium on June 10.
Sapit noted that the three should carry themselves with decorum before during and after the elections and the loser should support the winner during their tenure.
