Residents of Nyamache area in Kisii County have been urged to come out and register for National Identity Cards to enable them acquire the voter's card.
The District Civil registrar Douglas Masinde has said the electioneering period is approaching and the public should ensure persons with 18 years and above visit the Registrar of Persons offices to get their ID card.
Masinde further revealed that several processed Birth Certificates, Death Certificates and ID cards were ready for collection from the district office at Nyamache.
"Let us not complain of delays of these essential documents yet we are not obtaining them," he said.
Addressing the public during the Mashujaa Day celebrations at Nyamache, Monyancha David, the Sub-County Agriculture Officer also urged the public to be wary of the El Nino rains.
He said residents should not rubbish the warning by the meteorological department saying they should take measure to ensure they survive the risk of flooding and hunger.
