Speaking to the press at his office in Eldoret town, the Bishop said that corruption continues to taint the name of the country.

He noted that corruption, if not tackled will continue to benefit few individuals while subjecting millions of Kenyans to poverty.

“President Uhuru Kenyatta should be tough on corrupt individuals and ensure that Kenyans’ money and resources are protected, “he said.

Korir said that corruption is a vice that should be fought by every Kenyan who has interest in equality, fairness and equal distribution of national resources.

The Bishop also asked Kenyans to be on the frontline and report cases of graft so that relevant authorities can investigate and take action.

He said that time has come for transparency and accountability noting that development would never be realised if the society is corrupt.

He however lauded President Uhuru Kenyatta’s directive that all government individuals mentioned in graft scandals to resign pending investigations.

He said that the move is bold and meant to ignite the war against corruption, tribalism and abuse of office.

The Bishop urged the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), the Police and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions to work together in order to tame graft.

He at the same time urged the church to pray against the spirit of corruption, misuse of power, assault and tribalism which he said are rampant in the society.
