Muhuri Chairman Khelef Khalifa has accused Coast Regional Coordinator Nelson Marwa of intimidating Human Rights activists.
The accusations come after his house was ransacked by unknown people on Monday night.
Khelef, who was out of the country during the incident, has now said that he fears for his life and his family members no longer feel safe.
The outspoken activist said the fact that only three phones were taken during the break-in raises eyebrows about the incident.
“Someone is sending the message that they can get me and I blame Marwa and the security organs for creating fear against activists,” said Khalifa, as quoted by The Star.
Khelef has been in the forefront in condemning extra-judicial killing in the Coast region.
He recently faulted police for killing three women during the Mombasa Central Police Station attack, saying the officers accused the trio of being terrorists to cover up for extra-judicial killings.
He also accused the Anti-Terror Police Unit (ATPU) of asking for bribes from terror suspects who are later released due to lack of evidence.
