According to political activist Abdul Noor, the initiative has enhanced Mbugua's image among the public and has moved him closer to the people.

Speaking Tuesday in Nakuru town, Noor said through the initiative, the people have felt Mbugua's presence and will most likely vote for him.

"People used to cry that the governor was hard to access but through the Gavana Mtaani initiative, they have seen him and felt him, and that is a big boost to the governor," said Noor.

Noor added that even though the county boss has said the programme is not political, he will use it as a campaign tool come 2017.

"Yes, the Governor has said the programme is not political, but he will definetly use it against his opponents in 2017," he said.
