On Friday, Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Martha Mutuku released the activist unconditionally.

Omtatah’s lawyer James Orengo told court that the activist did not skip Thursday court session intentionally as he was in another matter before the High court.

Orengo told court that it was unreasonable for Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi to issue a warrant of arrest against Omtatah when he was within the court vicinity.

The prosecution okayed Omatatah’s release but cautioned him to take court proceedings seriously.

The matter will be mentioned on March 22 for further directions.

Omtatah was arrested on Thursday morning after he failed to appear in a hearing criminal matter hearing where he is charged alongside other people.

The activist was booked and spend Thursday night at Kilimani police station.
