Miguna is expected to come back from Canada, though the government through the Immigration department maintains that he must first apply for a Kenyan passport before being allowed back.

36-year-old Boniface Ogutu Akach went on a hunger striker at the Kondele fly over in Kisumu, and almost died while protesting Miguna Miguna’s second deportation to Canada over a month ago.

He has vowed to go on another strike if the lawyer is not allowed back in Kenya.

“If the government won’t obey court orders and let @MigunaMiguna enter Kenya as a Citizen on 16/5/2018, I will start another hunger striker at the government’s doorstep in Nairobi. Won’t eat even if taken to hospital or prison,” he posted on his twitter page on Monday morning.

The activist could have died of hunger had he not been rushed to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (Russia) by well-wishers on the seventh day of his strike.

A severely hungry and weak Akach was admitted at the hospital’s High Dependency Unit (HDU), and was later released after under-going treatment.
