Nakuru-based political activist and former TNA chairman Abdul Noor wants IEBC to take charge of all political party nominations in order to end rigging and favouritism.
Noor said most political party nominations are never done in a transparent and open manner something he said locks out deserving candidates.
Speaking on Saturday in Nakuru town, Noor said parties issue out nomination certificates to people basing on how much money one has. This, he said, locks out popular candidates.
"The only way we can ensure that the right candidates get the nomination we must allow IEBC to take charge of nominations in out political parties beause this will make them free and fair,"said Noor.
"If IEBC takes charge of nominations we will also ensure that the right candidates get the nomination and this will make elections free and fair,"he added.
Noor also said that proper and open nominations will reduce the number of defections from political parties.
He called on the government to set aside a budget for IEBC to enable it manage nominations on behalf of all political parties.
