According to the activists Joseph Kiai and Margret Barongo, they say they sense politics more than the need to safeguard the country.

They argue that there are better ways of safeguarding the security of the country rather than throwing out the helpless refugees.

“Some of these refugees are helpless mothers and children. The move by the government to throw them out will be very unfair to them. Where will they go,” said Barongo.

“We have some of the refugees that have been born here and this is their homeland. A move to close the camp is unfair to them," said Barongo.

"The government should reconsider throwing out the refugees. This is simply sending them back to exile, a place of war and famine," she added.

They argue that prior preparations should be made with their mother country if they must be ejected to ensure their safety.

“It is unlikely that they will be accepted back into their country. These people sort to flee to this country for the hope of peace and security. Forceful eviction is against their human rights,” said Kiai.
