The group, which included members of Haki Centre, KHRC, Maskani ya Taifa, Third Wheel Alliance and TI-Kenya met on Tuesday at the Pan Afric Hotel, Nairobi to push the president to act faster on the increased cases of graft in the country.

This comes barely a week after the Health Gate scandal where Sh5 billion were lost.

The group during a press briefing said that they want immediate legal action against those guilty of the crime.

They further called Kenyans to attend peaceful demonstrations at Freedom Corner on Thursday in a push for action by the president.

“Kenyans have been subjected to theft and plunder of public resources and no action is being taken, even the President has been silent for a long time," said Boniface Mwangi, a leading activist against corruption.

“Mr President stop claiming you have done your part in fighting the corruption menace. Sack ineffective officials and if that is not possible, resign,” said Kipng’eno Rono, another activist.

The group has however called on the president to suck all corrupt officials and think of the walfare of the country rather than personal interests.
