Human rights activists and business stakeholders in the Coast region have said the planned swearing-in of NASA leader Raila Odinga could affect the country’s economy.Human Rights Agenda (HURIA) official Mr Alex Nziwi Mwaruwa said NASA leaders should call off the proposed swearing of Mr Odinga and engage in dialogue with Jubilee party.Nziwi said President Uhuru Kenyatta and Mr Odinga should embrace dialogue to unite the country after the tense election period.Speaking in Mombasa on Wednesday, Mr Nziwi said the political environment in Kenya has not yet stabilised since the last general election, adding that the current situation could make investors to shy away from investing in the country.“Swearing in Mr Odinga on January 30 can cause more chaos, distraction and instability in the country since President Kenyatta was sworn in constitutionally,” said Nziwa.“Since the general election, nothing is moving on in the country because every political side is adamant that they won the election and this has made investors afraid of investing in Kenya,” he added, as quoted by Baraka FM.He said activists are pushing for national dialogue so as to solve the political stalemate being witnessed in the country. Is there a newsworthy accident, incident or event happening in Mombasa County that you want Hivisasa to cover?
