Coast political analyst Mwakuja Mrombo has warned that discontent in the National Super Alliance (NASA) in Kilifi County could cost the opposition coalition the October 26 presidential vote.Mrombo told The Star on the phone on Tuesday allegations that at least four MCAs nominated to the county assembly hail from Nairobi and Siaya counties are the cause of the anxiety. His remarks came even as Governor Amason Kingi dismissed the claims stating they have been made up by Jubilee Party sympathisers.Kingi told the daily that he would be more concerned if the protests were from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) instead of members of other political parties.“In ODM we have a mechanism to handle such a matter. We’ll address that if it comes from ODM members,” said Kingi.Aside from the MCAs’ claims, several leaders have ditched NASA for Jubilee; a move observers say could scuttle the coalition’s grip in the county. They advised NASA to urgently address the issues as soon as possible.Mrombo is of the view that such claims make NASA supporters in Kaloleni, Rabai and Kilifi South constituencies jittery.
